A stranger descends from a portal over a sunken city, the Last City, and beckons a young maiden stranded and captive, to take from his open palm the glowing seed of Destiny, and change the fate of the machine called The Unity and all those trapped consciousnesses imprisoned there.

A closed system within the Unity, a network of inhabited, virtual worlds, a perfect replica of the world left behind after the fall of civilization, and home of the throne of the First King, the inventor of the Unity, and his prize, the Prima Donna, the AI that runs the network.
When a massive burst of data tears a portal into the Last City, an Unregistered User spawns above the city, triggering the prophecy of the Promised King, and the destruction of the Unity.
TPK I 1.1 - The Prima Donna
The first fully artificially intelligent being ever created, woven from and through the Unity's confluence of data and AI. She is the full embodiment of The Unity's complex data network of independent, inhabited, virtual worlds. Yet she, like all the digital avatars in the city below and countless worlds beyond, is unknowingly a prisoner inside the system.
